Project 365 – Day 47: A free poster through Klout

February 16 2013

Despite constant fluctuations, my Klout score is apparently good enough to get me the occasional perk. If you don’t know what Klout is, it’s a site that you connect all of your social media sites to and it measures your influence across them all. You can sign up for perks, which gets you coupons, free items, etc.

Well, my Klout jumped enough and I got a free poster from Zazzle.com! I’m pretty happy, because I’ve wanted that life mantra poster for quite a while.

Project 365 – Days 45 and 46: DC shopping spree and my sports hats

(February 14, 2013)

February 14 2013

I slept through most of Valentine’s Day, but I managed to snap a picture of the hats I tend to rotate through when my hair is shorter. I don’t know why I stop wearing them when my hair needs cutting; that’s probably when I should be wearing hats… Less effort necessary.

February 15 2013

I went on an online Tilly’s shopping spree earlier in the week, and I bought a bunch of DC things. Along with shirts, a hoodie and some socks, I bought a cinch bag, shoes and a backpack! Yay for new things.

Project 365 – Days 40 through 44: Late nights with photo assignments and homework

(February 9, 2013)

After covering baseball and softball games at Cosumnes River College, I had a long night of sorting through photos, rosters and my game notes to pick out the best photos that would lend themselves to the best caption. (My Flickr sets, including my sports photos)

February 10 2013

I was at the kitchen table the night before for caption writing because this is how my desk looked. Yikes! Yes, I’ve cleaned it since then.

February 11 2013

Another late night shot where I had been writing captions for a photo assignment (this time a club profile), as well as reading for my history paper and scanning old film negatives for my Photoshop class.

February 12 2013

After my long day of school on Tuesday (7:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.), I had to head back over to Hookaholics for that review that my friends and I were working on for The Connection. We needed better photos with people. While I was shooting the photos, I noticed someone was smoking out of a pineapple. Yeah, that was pretty epic to see.

February 13 2013

To conclude this assignment themed post is from yet another late night. This time I snapped a photo while I was half asleep, trying to finish my history paper. I was up until 3 a.m. writing, and had to get up around 6 a.m. for my history class at 7:30 a.m. Gross.

Project 365 – Day 39: I tried hookah for the first time

February 8 2013

I went to a hookah lounge for the first time with a couple of friends. It was actually for an assignment on newspaper, and I tagged along to let my friend use my camera. I ended up taking a lot of shots for myself, though. Man, talk about low light photography. Anyways, this just looked kinda cool.

I really like using my 50mm at f/1.4 I should use it more often, I think.

Project 365 – Day 38: An exceptionally puffy cloud in the sky.

February 7 2013

My friend pointed out a great cloud in the sky today, and since I had my camera on hand, with the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens I once again checked out from the newspaper, I decided I’d shoot some photos of it. I need to practice my cloud photography, I think.
